The observed reduction onset potential of the extremely dilute Ag + ions (0.02 m M ) deviates significantly from its equilibrium reduction potential calculated using the Nernst equation (0.28 V vs. Ag/AgCl). Initially, it was suspected that the acetate ions in the solution, which may serve as strong complexing agents for Ag + ions, were responsible for the observed deviation. However, an LSV performed without the presence of acetate ions resulted in a similar reduction onset potential
