    • For chiral purity, sulfoxides were isolated by selective extraction with aqueous sodium hydroxide solution from the reaction mixture, (washed with dichloromethane when isopropyl alcohol was used), the aqueous layer was neutralized with acetic acid, and the products were extracted into dichloromethane; after evaporation, the residue was analyzed on chiral HPLC.
