Her current attention concentrates on the impact of behavior and adaptations on the genetic structure of populations. Alexander Jueterbock, Philipp Kraemer and Jana Deppermann are graduate students working on the genetic structure, dispersal and genomics of different marine organisms in Gerlach's lab. Peter Harmand is a mathematician specialized in analysis and statistics
