It is worth noting that the Director of Children's Services was hounded out of office by an alliance of politicians and media as a consequence of what appeared to be systemic failures brought to light by a review of Children's Services. This would appear to be a reasonable action except that in a subsequent legal action by the director it transpired that the local authority had suppressed some of the evidence in order to enhance the appearance of the director's guilt. It is also worth noting that Badman conducted the inquiry into the conduct of Haringey Social Services failures with respect to the safeguarding of these children.
