Tc =123K of the present single crystal estimated by the anomaly on the cooling run is by several degrees lower than that of the sample with " Tc =135K " reported in Ref., whose differential scanning calorimeter data has a peak at 127 K on the cooling run. It is speculated that this difference is caused by a small amount of excess oxygen existing in our crystal.

In the vanadate Mott insulators, the Mott excitation (between neighboring V ions) and the excitation between V and oxygen ions exist above 1 eV (Refs.). We speculate that in the present BaV10 O15, the excitation between trimerized V ions and untrimerized V ions, and between V and oxygen ions, are dominant in the σ (ω) spectra above 1 eV.
