    • In the second line of Eq. (14), we have omitted an extra term kBT, which arises from expanding the second term in the integrand of the first line to first order in W(p,r). Since this extra term does not involve any variational parameters, it does not affect to the equilibrium properties. If we kept this extra term, the constant term "-3" in the free energy equation (15) would be "-4".
