The ESR measurement was taken in ambient light first; compounds 2, 3, and 6 - 8 displayed ESR signals but 4, 5, and 9 did not. After UV (355 nm) irradiation, 4, 5, and 9, however, clearly displayed ESR signals. After an additional 1 month, 4, 5, and 9 still displayed their ESR peaks without UV light irradiation
