    • It should be noted that the presence of the fluorine tag in 1 results in a change in priority of the pendant alkyl group (C8-C18) relative to the nonfluorinated compound. This results in assignment of the (S)-configuration to the sulfoxy centre of bio- 1 whereas the corresponding non-fluorinated parent compound is R configured.
