    • The most obvious case where the velocity would obey the wave equation is the case of constant ρ and λ with the property of irrotational flow, i.e. × v 0 [this property is a direct result of the linearized flow approximation used in deriving Eqs.]. With these constraints and the vector calculus identity (A) = 2 A - × (× A), the wave equation is recovered
