    • The dihydride 6 was applied in catalytic reactions in the mixture (3:2) with the unknown complex. It was assured that the second component was unreactive toward H2. The aqueous biphasic catalytic hydrogenations (water/benzene) of 1-hexene and a cetophenone were conducted in a steel autoclave under 20 bar H2 pressure. However, in both cases no reactions were observed. When the hydrogenation of olefins, ketones and imines were tested for catalytic hydrogenations in THF under H2 pressure 15-40 bar, only olefins showed moderate activity. For example 1-hexene showed a 85% conversion to hexane in 16 h at 70 °C with a H2 pressure of 15 bar. In contrast to this catalytic hydrogenation reactions of alkenes or imines in THF or in the biphasic water/benzene system using 1% of 7 as a catalyst and H2 pressure were not successful, presumably, because 7 possesses a too stable 18 e- coordination sphere and facile rearrangement see
