The worst case estimate for the Landau-Zener probability is pLZ □0.05 at the bias point (ng, φ) = (1,π); this is sufficient to produce a population of p1 =0.30 on the excited band when phase coherent addition of the tunneling amplitudes is accounted for. However, no Landau-Zener intereference phenomena are observed in our data.
