53. This was not a rule interpretation made by the Library of Congress. This AACR2 rule reversal was the result of a vote taken by the Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access at the American Library Association Midwinter meeting in Washington in 1981. CC:DA asked L.C. to disseminate this A.L.A. decision. It has done so through its rule interpretations (email communication from Ben Tucker, Jan. 8, 2001).
