    • Jerome translated the Psalms from the Septuagint (via Origen), creating what became known as the "Gallican Psalter." After working from the original Hebrew to translate other Old Testament books, he produced another version of the Psalms, this time from the Hebrew and called, therefore, the "Hebrew Psalter."
