    • In ref 10, two widely different assignments of the Sββ carbon of the PEP sequence were reported. The origin of a spectral difference of as much as 2.77 ppm between the two assignments was accounted for as depending on the difference of the neighbouring sequences of the central carbon in the two PPEPD and EPEPE pentads. In the copolymers obtained with TBI, which promotes the formation of "blocky" copolymers, the signal at 21.80 ppm, corresponding to Sββ carbon in the alternating pentad EPEPE, is nearly absent, and only a single peak at 24.57 ppm assigned to PPEPD is observed).
