    • Despite the common terminology used to describe labdanoids related to communie acids as regular and those related to ozic acid as enantio, these products are in fact epimeric, not enantiomers. The same is true of the bicyclic products (Fig. 1, I to IV and V to VIII) derived from the polymers of these terpenoids by Py-GC-MS. This terminology, although imprecise, is deeply entrenched in the literature related to these compounds and is retained here for consistency with numerous previously published works.
