12. General procedure: compound 5 (0.5 mmol) and corresponding benzoazole aldehyde (5 mmol) were added to 30 mL of absolute anhydrous toluene. Under nitrogen, the reaction mixture was refluxed till the disappearance of 5 (monitored by TLC). The resulting solution was cooled to room temperature and the solvent evaporated under vacuum, the crude product was obtained. The crude product was further purified by recrystallization from dichloromethane and methanol to give the pure product.
