    • Findings on endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and pancreatic function test in suspected chronic pancreatitis and negative cross-sectional imaging
    • This study reports that peak lipase concentration during CCK-stimulated ePFT is 93% sensitive for diagnosing chronic pancreatitis in patients whose pancreas appears normal by cross-sectional imaging. The specificity, however, was only 37% in 11 patients deemed not to have chronic pancreatitis after a median follow-up of 7 years. Because of established high specificity of direct, quantitative PFTs, it is likely that the low negative predictive value is due to correctable technical limitations of the study or failure to exclude confounding diseases
