    • A Debye relaxation is usually described in terms of its contribution to the susceptibility: Δ χj (f) = Xj / (1-2πif θj), where Xj denotes the dielectric strength of the relaxation. Equivalently, the dielectric relaxation can be expressed as a contribution to the conductivity via the well-known relation Δ σj (f) =-2πif ε0 Δ χj (f). The introduction of the mobility in Eq. 1 then reflects the fact that the conductivity is a product of charge density and (frequency-dependent) carrier mobility.
