    • This case report emphasizes that injection of Avastin for ROP stages 4 and 5 in the presence of dense fibrous membranes can accelerate retinal detachment. This contraction of fibrous membranes leading to retinal detachment in ROP is similar to that reported in diabetic retinopathy and should not be confused with injection of Avastin for ROP stage 3 with no or minimal fibrous membranes
