2 one-electron mixing do the above sign changes lead to a reversal in sign of the rotational strength contributions. A comparison of the calculated CD spectrum of a 20-amide Pauling and Corey R-helix using the corrected and uncorrected transition parameters is given in Figure S1 of the Supporting Information. The corrections lead to a ∼30% increase in the magnitude of the nπ* band, a ∼25% increase in the 208-nm band, and less than a 2% increase in the 190-nm positive band.
