The measurement of the intensity data sets for KYTe2 and RbYTe2 were carried out at room temperature with a K-CCD diffractometer (Bruker-Nonius) using Mo-Ka radiation (graphite monochromator: λ, 71.01 pm, Corrections for absorption have been applied with the program HABITUS (W Herrendorf and H. Bärnighausen, Karlsruhe 1993, Gießen 1996, Structure determination and refinement was performed with the program system SHELX-97 (G M.
