The kinetic energy of the whole system consists of that of 2ALS and of the superfluid overlayer as K= n m 2 n2 + 1 2 m ρs dx vs2. By substituting Eq. 3 into the second term, we obtain K= m 2λ (λ 2π) 2 0□ dx I 2 + m 2 ρs (λ 2πd) 2 0□ dx I 2. Thus, the effective mass of I becomes 1+λ/ (d2 ρs) times larger due to the presence of the superfluid overlayer.
