Rabins PV, Brooks BR, O'Donnell P et al. Structural brain correlates of emotional disorder in multiple sclerosis. Brain 109(Pt 4), 585-597(1986). Reports the results of a study of 87 patients with multiple sclerosis assessing the relationship between brain involvement and emotional disorders. The results suggest that depression is determined partly by the presence of brain involvement, but is also an emotional reaction to the disorder, whereas euphoria and cognitive impairment reflect brain involvement.
