It stated that CAM and associated therapies are popular approaches used by parents in the treatment of asthma and encompasses many therapies, including nutritional and dietary supplements, herbal medications, TCM (including acupuncture), homeopathy, mind- body techniques and manual therapies. This review has summarized updated studies of each CAM therapy. The comments by the author are well balanced.

This study presents two major novel findings: First, FAHF-2 provides persistent protection for almost a quarter of the mouse life span after a single course of treatment and also maintained the long-term beneficial immunomodulatory effect. This is an exceptionally long-term posttreatment effect. Such a longterm effect of food allergy therapy has not been demonstrated in any previous study. Second, this study identifies a functional requirement of IFN-g producing CD8 T cells that are responsible for the long-term therapeutic effect of FAHF-2.
