Nowick, Academic, New York Another factor that affects the dopant concentration for maximum ionic conductivity would be the correlation of successive oxygen vacancy jumps which is due to the fact that the jump probability depends on the local cation configuration and vacancy-vacancy exchanges are forbidden. These effects are summarized in the so-called physical correlation factor for diffusion (see 45). The present model 16 considers only NN correlation effects. Nevertheless, inclusion of the NN correlation effects improved significantly the estimation of diffusion coefficients according to the literature
