18. The scale of this outcome will not be knowm until DIAC processes visa applications from cooks and releases the results. However, unpublished DIAC data indicates that only 488 cooks, bakers and pastrycooks were granted 458 visas between 1 September 2007 and 31 December 2008. The implication is that most onshore visa applicants who nominated cooking as their occupation over this period are likely to gain a 880, 881 or 882 visa.
