17. In the nonpolar solvent cyclohexane, evidence was found for conformational contraction of the charge-separated state, resulting in a compact charge-transfer (CCT) conformer (see ref. 15). The bridge separating the donor and acceptor should thus be viewed as being semi-rigid.
