    • Actually this r0 corresponds to the equilibrium distance for a diatomic molecule. But for the bulk metal, the interatomic distance is smaller (by ∼10, than r0 due to interactions beyond nearest neighbor. We have taken r0 as the bulk interatomic distance. Choosing a larger r0 (than the actual interatomic distance) will only affect coefficient B and one of the two exponentials in Eq, 3) will have a prefactor. In fact, the detailed phonon characteristics and the Debye frequency will also depend on the interactions beyond the nearest neighbor interactions which we are not incorporating in this simple model
