Note that the electric field provided by Eq. 3 is completely different from the electric field mentioned in M. Mostovoy, Phys. Rev. Lett. 96, 067601 (2006), and that has been suggested to exist, e.g., for magnetic vortices as a result of the inhomogeneous character of the dipole configuration. For instance, such latter field is static in nature, would have a radial (in-plane) direction in our investigated ring, and would be unaffected by the change of vortex chirality. In contrast, the field displayed in Fig. 1 is dynamical in nature, is oriented along the z axis, and its sign is directly related to the chirality of the vortex.
