    • In accordance with the conclusions reached by Grimme, we avoid using the ambiguous term "pi-pi interaction" to describe the interaction between the phenyl ring of phenylalanine and the SWCNT. We also note that we do not currently have any experimental evidence proving that the phenyl ring lies in a stacked geometrical configuration with respect to the nanotube, although preliminary modeling results do suggest that this is the case
