A colloquium on comparative intellectuals was held in January 1997 at the Centre d'Etudes et de Recherches Internationales, in Paris, and a colloquium on the 'Histoire des Intellectuels' was held in November 2001 at the Centre d'Histoire de l'Europe du Vingtième Siècle of the Fondation nationale des sciences politiques, Paris. Both have resulted in published collections of papers.
