One fascinating theory of everyday life in relation to technology is that of Mike Michael, Reconnecting Culture, Technology and. Nature: From Society to Heterogeneity (New York, 2000). He treats various technologies (walking boots, cars, TV remote controls, dog leashes) in new combinations of machines and human beings, based on theoretical perspectives of Bruno Latour, Donna Haraway, and Michel Serres. He is interested in the mixing of humans and technologies, the formation of new social and cultural subjects. His work is highly recommended but it does not problematize media as such

Streetwise: The French Invention of Everyday Life
-
Kristin Ross in "Streetwise: The French Invention of Everyday Life," Parallax, 2 (1996), 67-75. disagrees with this assessment of Lefebvre's concept of everyday life. She argues that it is the most coherent of the several French theories of everyday life, including those of Louis Althusser and Michel de Certeau. I am grateful to Ray Gains for pointing me to the special issue of Parallax that includes Ross's essay
