G. R. F. Ferrari, City and Soul in Plato's Republic (Academia Verlag, Sankt Augustin, 2003). Ferrari argues that the F person is like the F city in embodying the same structure, but that Plato does not think that the F city is made F by the presence, or dominating presence in it of F individuals. Thus the timocratic man, for example, is according to Ferrari not one of the rulers, or even the inhabitants, of the timocratic city.
