    • 12 After removing the medium from each well, the cells were washed with PBS and stained with 0.1% crystal violet in 10% ethanol for 5 min at room temperature. The cells were then rinsed four times with distilled water, and crystal violet retained by adherent cells was extracted with 95% ethanol at room temperature for 10 min. Crystal violet absorption was measured at 590 nm (Molecular Devices Co., Sunnyvale, CA, U.S.A.).
