For benzyl bromide, the corresponding adduct with la was obtained in 13 and 31% under the stoichiometric and the catalytic conditions, respectively. Use of phenyl iodide resulted in 13 and 0%, respectively. The yield may become better by further optimization of the reaction conditions.
