Am J Physiol Renal Physiol 2007; 293:F1107-F1114. This paper is the first to document a role of ADPR cyclase and RyR in a physiological process in vivo. The results reveal a tonic action of this system in producing renal vasoconstriction under basal conditions of euvolemia and also in mediating acute GPCR (Ang II and norepinephrine)-induced renal vasoconstriction in a rat kidney.
