Intravesical prostatic protrusion is better than prostate in predicting the outcome of trial without catheter in white men with acute urinary retention: a prospective clinical study. J Urol 2007; 178:573-577. This study demonstrates for the first time in white patients that intravesical prostatic protrusion can be used to foresee the result of trial without catheter in patients with acute urinary retention. An intravesical distance of the prostate of 10 mm or less predicts a favourable outcome after catheter removal.
