    • Synthesis: The respective lanthanide sulphate salt (Ln = Eu, Tb, ∼0.078 g, 0.1 mol) was dissolved in methanol (10 ml) with 1,10-phenanthroline (∼0.018 g, 0.1 mmol). The mixture was then stirred at room temperature for 3 h. Colorless powders were obtained upon slow evaporation of solvent at room temperature. Colorless crystals were obtained after re-crystallization from DMF.
