    • The fluorescence lifetime of 1 should be very short. But the fluorescence lifetime of 1 observed was rather long-lived. The phenomena can be explained as follows. The real lifetime of 1 must be too short to be detected, and the signal detected here is presumably the one from the minor component, non-aggregated spices. Indeed, there is still very weak fluorescence observed as shown in the fluorescence spectra of 1 in Fig. 3. The similar phenomena and explanation are also reported, see reference 10a
