18. Constrained fits used to obtain the semileptonic rates of K mesons in editions of the PDG prior to 2004 underestimated their values by about 5%. Later results for these branching fractions obtained by KLOE, KTeV, BNL E865, ISTRA, and NA48 experiments have confirmed that weighted averages of direct measurements and indirect values obtained from constrained fits can lead to different results (see for instance).
