It is worth mentioning here that these Ising-like models with competing temperatures can exhibit phase transitions belonging in different universality classes than the Ising one. In particular, Menyhard showed [N. Menyhard, J. Phys. A 27, 6139 (1994)] that in some limit these models can experience a phase transition into an absorbing state, which yields in a universality class first observed in P. Grassberger, F. Krause, and von der Twer, J. Phys. A 17, L105 (1984). See also I. Jensen, Phys. Rev. E 50, 3623 (1994).
