    • As a result of the occurrence of multiple bands in the UV-Vis absorption spectrum, the π- π* transition is not as distinct as usually found for (substituted) PPV derivatives. However, the occurrence of multiple bands in extended PPV-type conjugated systems is not uncommon. See for example: Behnisch, B.; Martinez-Ruiz, P.; Schweikart, K.; Hanack, M. Eur. J. Org.
