During the titration, the concentration of metal perchlorate was varied accordingly in order to result in the requisite mol ratios of metal ion to L, and the total volume of the solution was maintained constant at 3 ml in each case by adding appropriate solvent or solvent mixtures. The same solutions were used for absorption studies.
