    • Effect of cog threads under rat skin
    • This communication delineates a complication seen in approximately 5% of patients having thread-lifts with multiple nonabsorbable barbed threads. As Dr. Beer describes, it is corrected by a relatively simple procedure with no permanent sequelae. Although the threads described in this article are no longer available, other permanent suture-based lifts are still in the market and one can anticipate that more of these problems will be seen for some time. This complication was not the apparent reason for the removal of these threads from the market and, overall, did not mitigate against their use. Stephen MandyMiami Beach, FL
