It has recently been shown (Ref.) that the discarded states can be used to construct a complete basis of many-body states spanning the full dN+1 -dimensional Hilbert space of HN, and that this basis can be used to greatly improve the accuracy of the NRG calculations of spectral functions (Refs.).
