    • From optical observations, we infer that holes and Pes cover 3/8 and 5/8 of the network surface, respectively. Using Equation (1) to define misalignment, we interpret the zero light intensity of empty zones as 0° or 90° orientations of the columns. Thus, holes have a nonzero contribution estimated to be 22.5° × 0.375, 8.4°. This contribution must be subtracted in order to retrace the misalignment of the columns only

    • Radial alignment is frequently observed near the center of spiral networks. The bending of columns does not occur in this simple configuration
