1. The literature on Robotics is very rich. Because of the paper limits, the reference list has been restricted to essential bibliographic sources, when not cited in the text. The figures have been selected from literature sources that has been thought easy to find for the readers, although some original documents have been also cited, with the aim to stimulate readers to go further in historical aspects in the field of their technical expertise.
