part of a panel discussion on "The Transformed Academy: Technology & Information Literacy," December 10, Washington, D.C., Commision on Higher Education. A number of colleges and universities have recognized the importance of information literacy skills. Oberlin College's Faculty Library Committee published a September 20, 1996 report that discussed "Information Literacy and the Oberlin Education." The Library responded with workshops and activities aimed at in-creasing ways of incorporating information literacy into the curriculum The University of Wisconsin Parkside incudes an information literacy requirement for graduation.
