The validity of the analysis of the EC coloring/bleaching process using the simple graphical method was confirmed by solving the following diffusion equation, ∂[Fc-V+]/∂t, D ∂2[Fc- V+]/∂x2, K[Fc-V, Fc, V2, where K is the recombination rate constant of Fc-V+ and Fc, V2, Experimental data of ΔOD showed that the change with the time of the EC cell was best fitted by this equation when D, 3.8 x 10-7 cm2 s -1 and K, 65 M-1 s-1. Using these values, the concentration profiles of Fc- y+ Fc+-V 2, and Fc-V2+ in region (iii) were simulated, whereby we assumed that the diffusion constant of Fc-V+ is identical to that of Fc, V2, The concentration profiles obtained were almost ident
