R. Boon, International Hobo Ltd., wrote in March 2002 that the most common complaint of video gamers is "that the game is too short." Games with plots are completed when players learn how to overcome all the hurdles and achieve the objectives. Classic arcade games, such as "Asteroids" and "Pac-Man," do not suffer from this drawback. Boon suggested that rather than make games "longer" they should be made more interesting, appealing to both hard-core and soft-core gamers, see www.ihobo.com/forum/articles/ mag_millstone.html and published in Computer Trade Weekly.
